How to deal with stressful days at work!

Employees are an asset to every organisation. Lets not become an ass just like the zebra illustrated in the picture by loosing its stripes.Yikes!! Stress can not just affect you but also the people around you. Everyone goes though stressful days at work in office over a course of time. It has now become a part and parcel of life that one cannot evade it no matter how much some one may want to unless you take radical steps to make changes in your life by choosing a different lifestyle. However, it is always advisable to leave your worries at work rather than to take it home along with you. Taking your office problems at home will only make matters worse for you leading to depression and anxiety in your life.If you work in a place where you have to daily deal with difficult clients, ridiculous deadlines, targets and problematic situations then I am definitely sure that there would have been days on your weekends when you must have felt that you do not want to go to work and face the daily rut of your job. Well I know of one thing that if you keep thinking of it continuously over a period of time you will reach your saturation point quicker than expected with your job.It is better to take one day at a time. Do not try to think of it at all times. Keep yourself busy and try to divert your mind when you land up in annoying situation. At work when you find yourself in a very frustrating situation it is suggestible to follow the below steps which are very easy and simple.
  • Try
to find a secluded place to avoid further distraction. Maybe you can just walk away to a rest room and a take few minutes break.
  • The next step
sounds very easy but it is difficult.  Try not to get overwhelmed by the mental block of anger, stress and frustration due to the situation that you are facing at the moment.
  • Calm yourself down
by closing your eyes and take in deep breaths very slowly. (When I say deep breaths it does not mean rapid breathing! Take a deep breath right into your stomach and count from one to five and then slowly release your breath).  Try to focus on the point between both your eyes at the forehead with your eyes closed.
  • Unwind
-The next step may sound strange, but you need to start letting your jawbone loosen by focusing on your areas around your teeth and tongue. Loosen all your facial joints slowly by focusing on your tensed nerves. (Just to give an example you loosen up your mouth muscles as if you feel like you are going to drool or your mouth waters at the sight of a lemon or ice-cream)
  • Continue
the above step and try to loosen your major tensed joints starting from your head, moving to your neck, shoulder, tips of your fingers, your waist, knee and finally your toes. After you have completed the unwinding process, open your eyes slowly and think that you are ready for a new start! If you do this is in your frantic situations you will slowly learn how to control your tensed nerves and it will be one of the steps where you can take control of your life.Hope this helps you in you’re frustrating times. Take care of yourself and remember that life is too precious to worry or stress over it, so make the best of it by living your life meaningfully.
